About us
The news that matters, without the scroll.
ActiveNews24 is a once-a-day digest of the most important stories, built for busy minds, short attention spans and anyone tired of doom scrolling.
Why we made this
Keeping up with the news shouldn't cost you an hour a day or your peace of mind. Most news apps and social feeds are designed to keep you scrolling: endless headlines, autoplay video, alerts every few minutes, and the same story repeated by a dozen outlets. For people with ADHD, or anyone whose attention is already stretched thin, that turns into either total overwhelm or tuning out completely.
We built ActiveNews24 for the middle ground: stay informed in about ten minutes, then get on with your day. One edition, a clear beginning and end, and no infinite feed to fall into.
What you get every day
- The top 20 stories, ranked. Most important first, so even if you only read the first five, you've caught the big things.
- Short, plain-English summaries. Each story gets a one-line takeaway, a couple of short paragraphs and a few key points. No jargon, no filler.
- "Why it matters." A quick note on how the story affects Americans, and Arizonans for local news, so you know why it's worth your attention.
- Sections you can filter. Only care about Arizona, money or sports today? Tap a section and skip the rest.
- Listen instead of read. Press Play today's briefing and the stories are read aloud back to back, like a short news radio segment while you drive, cook or work out. Every story also has its own Listen button.
- Or get it by email. Sign up for the daily email or a weekly roundup, and the top stories come to you.
How it works
Every morning we gather reporting from a wide range of national, business, science, sports and Phoenix-area outlets. Stories covering the same event are grouped together, duplicates are removed, and the most important ones are picked for the day's edition.
AI helps us read and summarize the original reporting quickly and consistently, and an editor reviews the edition before it goes live. Every story links to the original articles it was based on, so you can always dig deeper or check the source yourself.
Balanced on purpose
We pull from outlets across the spectrum, including Fox News, the New York Post and the Washington Examiner, along with AP, the BBC, CNBC, NPR and local Phoenix newsrooms, so you see the story from more than one angle. Summaries stick to what happened and leave the outrage out.
Respecting the reporters
We never republish full articles. ActiveNews24 is a starting point: if a story grabs you, please click through and support the journalists and publishers who did the reporting.
Our promise
No endless feed, no clickbait, no breaking-news alerts at midnight. Just the day's most important news, done in a few minutes, so you can stay informed and still have a life.
